Older rural Manitoba Hydro line running through the bush. This is one of the original poles still holding its steel crossarm. Most of the original poles have since been changed and still lay where the linecrew had them fall. The insulator dates I got from a couple of pieces I fround around a downed pole are all 1929. I'm assuming it's considered too much work to bring new material in here, because in most cases, where work has reciently been done on this line, the insulators are put back up on the new poles. |
