My son Neil who is 3 months shy of his 4th birthday and I got out on the weekend for another insulator hunt. We have been on a few in the past couple of weeks and he is thoroughly enjoying it. Even if we don't find insulators there are lots of other things that keep him interested and excited such as railway spikes, tie wires, old trash, coal, slag, puddles.... you get the picture. Although he gets upset with raspberry canes and brush in general that gets in his way. At one pole site a few weeks ago, I started scraping around and was finding the usual broken straw dominions and Neil with his little garden prong started digging on his own and was very excited to find a chunk of a white porcelain CPR. This past weekend we were out again and it was beginning to get late. He was getting tired and wanted to go home and see "mommy". I don't blame him as we had covered quite a bit of ground and been out for 3+ hours. I scraped around a pole site and didn't find anything so we began to walk away back to the trail when I noticed something sticking out of the ground where he had just stepped over. I scraped the brush away to expose a 3 dominions, 2 154's in green aqua and straw and a 155 in aqua. To most of us it's nothing special but he was so excited. I rushed to get the camera and filmed him pulling the 154 green aqua from the ground. The video was better than expected. Me and the wife just can't stop watching it. It is so adorable!
