This is a complete set of solid pour (F-S) KPP ARMSTRONG DP 1 (R-S) MADE IN U.S.A. insulator paperweights.

These were made by Don Wentzell in 1991. These were originally sold at that year's National Show for 5.00 each. The production numbers are listed beside the pieces in the picture: 26 cobalt blue; 22 amber; 25 cornflower blue; and 26 "burgundy." Don used an original mold he had gotten from the factory. He later sold the mold in one of Ray Klingensmith's catalogs.

Don called these paperweights. He also called the one on the extreme right "burgundy," All of the cobalt pieces have a brownish splotch on their bottom (Don told me he did not know why). The amber one is a root beer amber color and, in sunlight, is fairly transparent. The burgundy is actually a very dark purple that passes no light at all - not even near its edges. However, for some reason, when holding it up to a light and looking up through the base to the dome, my video camera can "see" through it and shows the purple color. It is very difficult to collect a full set of these. Rich Wentzell had an amber one for sale at the last Shrewsbury, PA show (2009).

This information is posted here in the reference section to make sure it is recorded and available to our hobby.

All of this information was collected from Don back around the years 1999-2000.
