Looking north on the main street In North Bend, OR. located in the Coos Bay/ Southern Oregon Coast area. The open wire line on the right is running above cables of the West Coast Tel. Co. but is not theirs. It is a long US Coast Gaurd defense line built at the beginning of World War ll and ran from Crescent City CA. to Port Angeles WA. The wires on the clear glass 42's are USCG. There is a pair next to the pole top that may be a fire alarm circuit and a wire not identified on the pole top. Across the street are power lines of the Mountain States Power Co. newly merged into Pacific Power. Note the sideways transformer mounting. This line was fairly new.
