A view showing a massive power line rebuild east of Tillamook, Oregon. There are around 30 poles involved on this job according to Doug Kujac, line foreman for the Tillamook Peoples Utility District. Power insulators coming down are brown Victor Insl. U-808A, U-414, and sky blue U-880A, also some NGK U-876 and brown Victor U-869A 2 skirt. Most of the poles they are replacing date to the 1950's and are sub-standard in size and since this is rain country, they are rotting away. The line voltage is 14.4 / 25 kV. The foreman promised me some insulators and gave me 1 U-808A already. See "Porcelain Insulators" album for photos. or [id=242309606].
