Here's a picture of three different insulators that have what is referred to by many collectors as a "Fancy M" The top one is a very interesting, SCARCE variant of a Skirt embossed AM TEL & TEL. Co. (note period placement). Actually, all the embossing is scrunched together and is quite LARGE and CRUDEly made. (I am in the market for any and all this variant, EIN [105) The second down piece is a CD 164 McLaughlin and the third down is a CD 154 Mclaughlin. Not all McLaughlin 164s and 154s have this type of M as shown in the lowest picture (164). I find them quite interesting and wonder if perhaps the same engraver made the first three and made the M that way as his signature. Possible? |
