While out photographing a few beehives I met this lineman working at the CSX supply pen near my house. He was preparing some new crossarms for installation to replace some old arms with glass on them. Not sure exactly what is going on these new polypins but I suspect the plastic CEECO and Delta star pieces. Inside the pen I DID see some dove grey OB signals and brown porcelain signals that were destined for the 440 volt lines. He's got a job I'd love to have! While I chatted with him, he asked a lot of questions about insulators, ages and where he could get some pre-1920's glass, so I gave him the insulators.info website address. He said he was interested in CREB glass but he thought he'd have to pay a lot for it because of the age, so I told him to give ICON a look and to check out the sale folders. We might well see him join!
