Not normally associated with Hemingray, some of my favorite Covington finds are these swirled slag pieces. They are much like the car ashtray slag but from decades before cars were on the road. All these beauties were hidden beneath large rocks and concrete chunks where they have been trapped and sheltered from flood waters. They are also inhabited by unfriendly river snakes and other crawling river bank creatures. These chunks are exceptions where aqua, amber, olive and multi-color chunks are randomly strewn with pieces of jars, bottles, lamps and yes, an occasional insulator shard.
