The title may be a tongue twister of sorts, but these two will make your tongue unravel quite nicely... and then drop straight to the floor! Well, perhaps not - but they are certainly neat, and quite scarce! These two Diamond CD 102s look normal enough at first, but upon closer examination, you will find that they are of the [160] embossing style - a more unusual form of the "Vertical Bar / Diamond, Vertical Bar / Diamond" CD 102, without any vertical bars! I'm not sure where these fit into the chronology of 102s, but they are a neat piece for certain, and both are different colours! The example on the left is a light blue aqua colouration. It has the unusual disposition of a series of bubbles having formed all around the pinhole, leading off from the threads. There are also several nice bubbles suspended in the glass. This one has a 3/8" fisheye on the rear/front crown, and some shallow annealing fractures in the dome glass, most likely from manufacture (most of these double Diamond 102s have this sort of fracturing). The example on the right is the really neat one. This one is a lighter, ice aqua shade, and it looks to be just about mint, with only a couple short annealing fractures on the dome, similar to the last one. What's neat about this one is a very nice selection of fine amber streaks and swirls, all throughout one side, and part of the dome from the insulator! I've tried to capture the amber in the photo, and it turned out fairly well. An unusual embossing variation, and junk in glass! What more could you ask for? How about $11.00 U.S. plus shipping for the two of these. I accept PayPal, and personal cheques or money orders from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me for more photos, or with any questions. I encourage you to look through my "For Sale (Not Sold)" stock, and combine items to save on shipping. All the best! |
