Sticking with the unusual tie wire theme this evening, I've dug this really neat old Canadian telegraph piece out of the basement. There has been quite a bit of talk on ICON about this most unusual form of "copper strip" wire tie. The line wire itself is a normal thickness, but instead of actual copper wire, the lineman has used a very thing copper strip as a tie. I've seen this variety of tie wire up here a few times, but it is by no means as common as the normal W.U. standard ties.

The insulator the tie is attached to is a [010] Diamond D CD 154 in a shade somewhere between peach and straw. The insulator is, interestingly enough, actually quite slumped in one direction, as the photo demonstrates (somewhat). The only damage I can see is one micro-fleabite on the rear crown. I'll call this one VVVVNM!

I'm asking $16.00 U.S. plus shipping for this most unusual 154, with a bit of extra history and character behind it! I accept PayPal, and personal cheques or money orders from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me for more photos, or with any questions. I encourage you to look through my "For Sale (Not Sold)" stock, and combine items to save on shipping. All the best!
