A small piece of Evening Shade's original telephone system rescued from a downed pole not far from my house. The pole it spent it's life on has come down in the recent ice storms. embossed on one side is "NO. 500". The other side has a Triangle on it. The metal strap it is hanging from is where the line had been placed. It was secured to the pole using thick iron wire. There were originally two, but I suspect it's partner had long been shot off, as all that remained was it's tie and the other wire loop. One side where the loop runs through has some fairly good chippage out of it.
