In the background note the "old school" way of mounting more than one electric distribution transformer for three-phase service. It was commonplace to mount the large transformers on crossarms or on a platform built between two poles. Since the 1950s this practice has become much less common. Today, three phase pole-mounted transformers are installed on "cluster brackets". More modern transformers are somewhat smaller and lighter than their earlier predecessors as well.
