A typical, serene New England township a hundred years ago! Of course despite so-called "progress" many Maine towns and villages have retained their serenity as well as their cordial friendliness ;-) New Sharon, Maine is no exception and this street looks much the same today except for the tall trees which fell in earlier decades either to disease or storms. Most of the antique homes seen still stand and have been maintained in fabulous, original condition.
