French hook insulator (circa 1855) The bell, in porcelain, is extended with two arms, each one with a hole. They are used to fix the bell on the pole with two woodscrews. The back part is rounded in accordance with the cylinder of the pole. Inside the hollow of the bell is sealed a rod ended by a hook where the telegraphic wire go through, without tie.
