Today we visited a farm owned by some friends of ours in central Ohio. They have owned the old farm since the 1970's. My son spotted some insulators on display in their garden and quickly discovered one of them was threadless. They recently had their old barn replaced with new steel outbuildings, and when that happened, some glass insulators on the barn and an adjacent pole were removed and put in their garden as decorations. One of them was the CD 732 in the picture. We showed our friends the value of the insulator at the Insulator Emporium's price guide on the internet, and suggested maybe the piece was worthy of an indoor display. Instead, it was given to us for our collection, and we are tremendously grateful to have a local threadless piece with known provenance. I'm still sort of stunned about the whole thing. Hard to tell from the picture, but it's unembossed and dark aqua. Greg & Christopher Fairborn, Ohio |
