I vividly recall this method of mounting distribution transformers as a kid. I've always been fascinated by the accessories used in installations like this one...i.e., the porcelain fuse cutout boxes, lightning arrestors, brackets and different kinds of insulators mounted every-which-way to accomodate the wiring. Some of these structures still can be seen here in the Boston area. However they are becoming a scarce piece of electrical industry architecture....one that I'll never forget!
