Threaded and Threadless From The Same Mold

Per the discussion on ICON this week a couple of pics of some of my favorites. Interesting to note that when comparing insulators from the same mold that there can be quite a few differences. Glass slumping after removal or the angle / depth the threaded or threadless mandrel was inserted, and sharpness of the embossing can result in differences in height and appearance. Paying attention to embossing characteristics, mold lines, and mold damage is key for identifying same mold insulators. A CD 131 & 731 Brookfield from the same mold. Interesting to note that many of these Brookfield threadless have weaker embossing, not necessarily a sign the mold was worn, but I think that the glass just was not as hot or of a greater viscosity when pressed.
