Both these commemorative pressings were made on the same day in March 2008. One resulted in worn-looking embossing, and one with crisp sharp embossing. This is a new mold with no wear (700 pressings), and no graphite lubricant build-up. This shows how weak embossing can be attributed to cold glass in a cold mold and not the "wearing out" of embossing. Also note how it looks like there is no middle bar on the "E", but it appears in the pressing on the right and clearly. So, assuming the crossbar was added at a later production time, or re-embossed later, places the pressing in a timeline based on the chance conditions of the temperatures and pressures of that particular pressing, but would not accurately represent the actual timeline of manufacture. |
