Of most interest is the crossover pole on the right. There were two insulators atop this pole on a short bracket (look closely!) that might have been used for a fire alarm telegraph circuit. Given that the fact that telephone, telegraph and electric utilities in Kansas were particularly known for using "specially colored" glass insulators as markers or delineators for specific wires, one imagines how many of these amber, bright blue and clear (later sun colored amethyst) insulators were used in towns just like this one!
