Here's the results of my third succesful hunt within a weeks time. Found these four in area where I had also previously hunted. The CD 157 Brookfield was amoungst three Hemingray CD 154's. Down the hill there was another with a large portion of the inner skirt broken out. I left that one behind and returned home with this one which is in mint condition. I also came home with the CD 136 B&O. Found that one split in two. Was about to super glue it back together when one half slipped out of my hand and shattered into three pieces on the floor. Still I glued it together. Thought I had an unlisted dome embossed insulator in this one or at least an embossing error. As I read it's embossing I could make out the CLIFF of CLIFF ST. quite well. The T of ST. appeared to be without an S. After cleaning and holding it just right in the sun light, looking very, very, very closely I noticed the S was there afterall. The CD 145 on the left is a B. I believe it's a green aqua base with some nice amber swirls. The star has some green slime and a bit of junk. And speaking of stars, does anyone know about the different sizes of the stars on the Star insulators? Some insulators have small stars and some have larger ones I've noticed. This CD 145 appears to be older then some others I have found over the years. Did the stars start out small and eventually get larger on the newer Star insulators? Also, does anyone know why the Star Insulator Company didn't have one of the stars points point straight up? Some one please email me if you have any info that might give me some answers here. Also forgive me for asking here and not at the question and answers alblum! |
