This small bracket fungus really is a unique looking specimen. This is a sub specie of the bolete family that have open pores rather than gills underneath the cap. Some of these like the polyporellus squamosis are edible when young and grow to huge sizes on dead elm trees. This one is too small and corky to be edible but the undercap pattern is neat.
