A Feb.16,1893 photo of the first electric interurban trolley from Oregon City to Portland. The car is named "Helen" and the line was noted as the first long distance electric passenger interurban line in the U.S. It was powered by water power from the Willamette Falls generating plant, located on the river in Oregon City. It was a marvel of it's time and the line actually lasted in service until 1958.
