Lower voltage equipment of some type.

Found this interesting little setup positioned underneath the 69KV lines that I showed here not too long ago. They appear to be some type of switches for the lower voltage distribution lines; yet although the "switches" appear to be open, there is another conductor across the two insulators.

Hi Craig, That switch is actually closed. This type of switch is what is called an omni-rupter designed to break up to 600amps of current. What you are seeing that appears to be open is the arc snuffing device. Hope this helps, Ron...........
