Right; this is a great placeholder until you get that mint upgrade! I bought this piece from Chris this past year but have since then upgraded. It was cleanly split in half along the wiregroove & re-glued; it's difficult to see the break. Obviously, this piece has seen some action while on duty! The neat thing about this piece is the top portion is a nice purple, while below the break it is silvery-grey. Would have been a killer two-tone if it was mint! Below is a very-detailed description of the damage. $55 shipped to your door; satisfaction guaranteed & no-hassle returns if not happy.

- The insulator has been broken in half fairly cleanly in the center of the wire groove. There is only a tiny 1/8" W x 3/4" L 'slice' for lack of a better term where some glass is missing.

- On the front base there is an angled crack extending from the base up to the wire groove and through the front into the inner petticoat; this can be seen pretty well in the front photo.

- There is a somewhat similar crack on the back side; this is seen in the rear photo.

- Also on the rear is a crack that extends into the dome above the top of the crack on the bottom but a bit to the right of it; this is not visible in the photo though.

- Also on the rear dome is a bruise that has some whitish residue possibly from laying on the ground; this is fairly well seen in the photo.

- There is a 1/4 W x 5/16" L ping bruise on the upper rear wire ridge and 2 smaller ping bruises in the rear wire groove, one being about the size of 2 bbs and the other about the size of one bb.

- The outside of the insulator as well as the inner skirt area and the drips points are in otherwise remarkably good condition with no real glass missing other than mentioned above. The drips are especially good with only a couple having a bit of flaking or roughness on them. There is some roughness around the base where the glass extruded from the mold but overall not too bad, especially when considered with the likely history of the insulator.

- As far as color, the front half of the base and most of the top is a nice medium purple and the rear half of the base is a nice silvery clear. An unusual two-tone not seen in these purple Petticoats.
