I was staring smack-dab at my first ever "Wild" purple... and it was a good feeling. Ooooh... there's nothing like seeing that unnaturally purple shade amongst normal, earth-type browns and greens. The piece itself was obviously a royal purple G.N.W. TEL. CO. CD 145, as it was buried embossing upwards. It's mould style exactly the same as the aqua examples that are very common on this line. This one, however, is obviously quite different than all those. I could tell it was riddled with internal cracks, but it appeared to have held together from what I could see. I snapped a couple photos (obviously), and then proceded to carefully dig it out, so as to not have it fall into pieces. Voila! 100% complete! Granted, it is cracked into an estimated 60-70 pieces, but it remains complete none-the-less!

This was only the second example of a royal purple G.N.W. 145 I had ever found on this line in 7 years of hunting it, so I was even more surprised to have found it here! Pretty amazing considering they would once have been common on this very line!

So there it is - my first-ever "Wild" purple. A truely unique experience, and one that I am fortunate to say I have lived. Now to find an intact example... I suppose I'll give myself another 7 years and that should come to fruition.

In the meantime, here is [id=222641087;a photograph of the piece cleaned up].

All the best!
