Something a tad out of the ordinary here in Ontario are STAR-embossed insulators. Some CD 145s turn up in the more north-easterly regions of Ontario, and the occasional 106 pops up in boxes of ponies here and there, but I'd say they are tough to find here for the most part. These two came from an antique store a while back, and I picked them out because of their condition, colour, and the noticeable junk-in-glass contained within them. Well, in the case of one, along the exterior edge of the insulator. The blue aqua example on the right has no junk-in-glass, but rather, a pinky-nail underpour nicely perched on the front skirt. This one has just a little, 1/4" area of roughness/micro-flaking on the rear, outer base-edge, and otherwise is in good shape. The green aqua example on the left is in excellent condition, as well, with just a pair of tiny, 1/8" by 1/8" base flakes on the front base. This one, though, has something more to boast... or something less. It's front, upper wire ridge contains a hefty bubble, approximately 7/8" long by 3/8" tall. How often does the good junk-in-glass actually occur right in the front? I'm asking $8.00 U.S. plus shipping for these two. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Please feel free to email me with any questions, or for more photos. Also, please check out my "unsold" stock in the "Not Sold" folder, and combine multiple purchases to save shipping! All the best! |
