Italian telegraph pole

A detail from an old postcard taken in the late 1930s not far from Rome, shows a classic Italian telegraph pole layout. Until the early Fifties this was a common sight along railroads in Italy, now all of them have disappeared. Double pole mounting was standard for heavy lines. If you look closely you can see a power station in the background, with cap and pin columns.
