Here I am offering a scarce type of solid wood insulator. These were from what I have learned from ICON discussions used for San Fran trolley lines and were made from Lignum vitae wood. This insulator is in primo condition and the wood grain and patterns are incredible! There are verticle lines in dark and light wood, about 1/3rd of the insulator is a light, almost golden coloured wood that has knots and curls in the woodgrain. The wood of this insulator is in solid condition, it's very old but not rotted, punky or soft. There are some cracks and such in the insulator which is to be expected, there are more to the one side than the other, but overall about as clean as these come. I would suspect that this was given a coat of clear finish at some point in the past, but if someone did, it was a very light coating and it's still in perfect condition. Own this rustic piece of Americana for your collection, they are getting rarer and rarer each day. More photos on req. You will really love this insulator! First mail to me... $185 shipped in USA/CANADA, other countries I will assist with shipping costs.
