In the foreground is a photograph taken some time in the later 1920s (or maybe 1930s) depicting a street scene in the above town. Note the radial wave street light on the utility pole along with some control equipment. It is possible (?) the latter was used to control (additional) series-burning incandescent street lights...much like familiar little Christmas lights in basic electrical operation. Or...the gear on the pole consisted of a wooden "birdhouse" primary fuse cutout towards the left of the double-crossarm connected to a customer service transformer. |
