Photo taken around the turn of the century with an unknown glass factory in the background that was in existance in New Jersey. Maybe they produced insulators??

In the foreground is classic Western Union telegraph line construction that was introduced here in the Northeast in the early 1880s. These lines incorporated six pin crossarms as well as occasional side-pins on the poles. I believe these were iron-wire circuits until upgraded to hard-drawn copper wire and 10-pin crossarms commencing at some time in the later teens...from my expeience here in the northeastern part of the US.
