This image was shown in Harper's Weekly in their January 1888 issue. This street scene was along Cherry Street where some model apartment houses were being shown (likely new at the time). The open wire pole line on the right also was given detail by the illustrator. These lines probably carried telephone and/or telegraph circuits through the city.
