Photographed is the above community in the early 1870s. Likely, threaded insulators were used on the four-pin crossarm line that traversed through this community. I'm not familiar with this territory and am assuming the insulators were CD 126s or CD 127s. Note the rather pronounced wires tightly strung on the right. Most likely this was a steel (iron) wire circuit that showed up well in this photo because the open-wire construction probably was recent and not rusted.
