Randolph, VT c.1910 Square Poles, Trees and Electric Lines

The electric service lines that served this quaint, tree-lined residential street were on the left. There you will see a relatively short (maybe 20 feet tall?) pole with a transformer on it. This pole line likely was constructed so that the tree branches above would cause minimal line-to-branch contact. Note that the pole in the foreground appears to be square or at least rectangular.
