For your consid'ration this eve'nin is a fine example of a CD 147 if ever there was one. Something we don't see north of the border, and with this embossing variation, likely something you don't see too often south of it, either.

This piece is the [050] PATENT - OTHER embossing style, with a mispelling in the "PATENTED" embossing, so that it read "PATNTED" instead. Whoever stamped this mould was fired, or at least given a stern lecture! This piece even has a crooked inner skirt, which leans off on a different angle due to some sort of misalignment of the plunger!

The piece is in good shape, save some shallow skirt flakes from the very sharp base edge, likely from manufacture. From the looks of it, these Hemingray-made pieces are probably pretty easy to find with this sort of damage. The largest flake is 1/2" long by 1/4" tall, and is just in between the beginning of the embossing and the left mould line, off the base edge. Short of this, there are three 1/8" by 1/4" flat skirt flakes similar to the first one on the front skirt.

I'm asking $8.00 U.S. plus shipping for this example. The damage isn't as bad as it sounds - I'd be willing to bet most of these pieces have the same sort of flakes. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone with whom I have already dealt. Feel free to email me with any questions, or for additional photos.

All the best!
