Hi, I was looking at some insulators in our collection and noticed the huge disparity in configuration in a couple of my Beehives. The positions of the wire grooves are very different, the base diameter is different (the Brookfield is smaller at the base), and lastly, the Brookfield has the bottom of the inner skirt flush with the base of the insulator, whereas in the H.G. Co the bottom of the inner skirt is well above the bottom of the insulator. Are these just normal variations on the CD 145, or is there something unusual or different about the Brookfield? Any help appreciated. I am new to the study of insulators, so I apologize for what could be a silly question. Thanks, Greg (Southwest Ohio) UPDATE: Thanks for the helpful emails everyone, the consensus is that I have stumbled upon routine varieties of the popular beehive. Thanks one and all responders!!
