None too common up here are the illustrious CREB insulators of Brookfield's earlier production. Occasionally, though, a signal or two saw it's way into use. These three I have turned up one way or another throughout my explorations of South Western Ontario, and I'm passing them on to someone who will appreciate them more! On the left is a [100] Brookfield CD 134. It is a sort of aqua colouration, but not a normal one. As can be seen it's a tad more green than usual due to the presence of some amber swirling throughout the piece. The amber shows up fairly well in the photo. The condition of the piece looks good, with just one "popped" potstone in the rear crown (where expansion has caused a small matrix of cracks to form around a potstone). In the centre is a [060] Brookfield CD 134. This one is a normal light aqua. The condition is excellent, and the piece looks unspectacular from the front, until you turn it around! In the rear wire groove on the left side of the insulator, there is a long, elaborately curving bubble, quite spastic in shape. It is a little over 2" in length, and it really does lend a unique air to the piece, even though it is not visible from the front. The last piece on the right is my favourite of the three. It is also a [100] Brookfield CD 134, and is a lovely blue aqua in colouration. This one, however, is much heavier than the first one. The pinhole is much lower, with more dome glass, and a thicker skirt. The real nice touch is a black intrusion in the front crown at the top of the pinhole. I don't know if it's metal, or just some carbon or something, but in the thick, lovely blue glass of the dome is entombed a small impurity that goes a long way! The condition of the piece is excellent - I can't find a thing wrong with it! I'm asking $12.00 U.S. plus shipping for the trio. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. Feel free to email with any questions, or for more photos! |
