Here's another look back upon one of the wonderful homes that lined the roads of America exactly a century ago. Photographed is a grandeur, spacious and elegant house in Illinois. The virtual peacefulness, simplicity and scent of wood stoves and fireplaces surrounding the photographer would be priceless if somebody were to stand on this front yard today.. In my opinion, a Hollywood set dresser would find this dwelling and its surroundings *absolutely superb* for a century-ago filming scene today...unless of course the house and its surroundings have been altered to a significant degree... Otherwise an operator of an over-the-shoulder of a state-of-the-art camera for a Hollywood movie production follow (let's say!) the bride and groom with the latter carrying his newly married gal right into the parlor (inside to the right) all in one take from the walkway ...to the bright, warm and comforty house...exactly as it was 100 years ago. Add a cameraman within an aerial lift slowly rising as he films the bride and groom **within and through the joined tree in the foreground** walking up the steps into their new home. As the tree branches come together, so do the couple in perpetual union. Two hearts... now beating as one. A good tip for a movie title..... I am a hopeless romantic ;-) Added 06/20/09: THIS person would be the *perfect* woman of THIS house.... [id=240377646]. What do you think?? **Wow, what I've give to be put into the forementioned as a reality!** Dreams do come true.... Patience is also among the greatest virtues, I also (want to) think! ********************************************************************************** Comment 05/23/2008: Do any of you ICONers know if this house is still there? If so, please reply to me off-list at: jmaurath@mindspring.com Thank You, Joe Maurath, Jr. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ |
