Got these at the mansfield bottle show. Took us about an hour to find the bottle show but when we did it was worth it. Finally got that 162 HGCo in that weird blue color i've been wanting, a brookfield made star 164 in emrald green, 2 great LRI's (the slash top is about as close to mint as any other LRI i have ever seen) and got a nice Columbia CD 263. The columbia stole the show. Really nice blue color and it does have a big chip (fortunatly the embossing hasn't been damaged by the chip) but that's about the only damage to the piece and it's as close to a good columbia as i will ever get. The show was fun, saw a lot of people i knew and got some good deals. On the way back from the show we decided to go look at the lines in the area. We had driven by them so many times but never looked at them so we figured that as long as we were in the area it would give us somthin to do. On the first line we went to, we saw some regular old HGCo 145's and on one of the poles there were two busted brookfield signals. (a 162 in lt. aqua, and a 162.1 in a nice green shade that had the whole lower skirt busted off) Since both were busted, we were hoping to find more but we couldn't find not one more on the whole line. On the next line there was a very nice and in good shape brookfield 162, but ti was in aswamp so it got left behind along with all the other interesing insulators in the swamp. I need rubber boots... Well go back some time over the summer for a better look at the area, right after we go to New York and Canada. |
