Here in New England tornados are very rare. The last two of noteworthy and prolific mention are those that touched down and caused LOTS of damage in Great Barrington, MA (1995) and another in the Worcester, MA vicinity (1953). The latter is sometimes still talked about to this day! Here is a photo showing a street scene during the 1953 aftermath. Back in those days there were not the emergency notification/alert systems that we are blessed with today.
