This clear glass bell supposedly taken from a fire tower by a former worker and passed on to his son after his death. The total height of the piece is 13 1/2 inches with the neck being 2 inches. The hole in the neck is 5/16 inch and the open base is 7 inches in diameter. The glass is 1/4 inches thick. When found there was a coating over the neck and top of the bell as to waterproof a wire that might have been thru the top hole. Could this have been a splice insulator or is there another use?
