Here is the date tag on the previous pole. It was new in 1951...I was 10! The other tags are approval tags from Osmose, a company that tests the poles by boring a core sample into the side. This one has passed a couple of times at least! Am not sure what the square tag means. When I was younger and climbing poles to take care of telephone lines, I used to dread this type of pole...note the tar treatment oozing out of it. They are very messy to work on and you can get tar all over you.....now, where's the feathers? ;)
