With all the talk about fake, pretty looking, wild colored EC&Ms, I thought I would post this picture, and pose a question. First of all, the question.... What is the nastiest looking insulator you have found? By nasty, I mean crusty, sooty, full of cement dust, or anything else that resulted directly from its years of service? Post a picture of it. This one is up there on my list, though I probably have a few other candidates. I guess this is sort of like the world's ugliest dog contest.

This particular HG 133-070 is not really in bad shape, with only a couple drips missing. It has its tie wire and a cast iron pin so tightly placed it will probably never come out, nor do I want it to. The glass itself is a good runner up to the blackglass HG bottle talked about recently, although in a slightly different way. Inside the skirt is a mass of dirty gunk, probably years worth of spider webs and soot all coagulated into one mass of dry gobblygook.

To me, these have character, and I won't ever have any suspicion regarding its authenticity.
