Here is a shot of a KCGW attributed 106 and a 146.5. See they share the funky upper wire groove and dome shape? The heights are close also. This is speculation, of course. As old as I am, I was not there when/if they did this around 1897. Horrible amber splotches on the 146.5 too. There are at least 2 different molds for the 146.5 as the embossed bars are in different locations and lengths. Want to see another pair? OK: [id=211974272]
