On the far left you'll see the first CD 127 W.U.TCo. Brookfield I have found. Well maybe I found a shard or two in the past. I'm not sure or do not recall. Anyhow, on my way to Chatham N.Y I spotted a pole with glass located in Ghent N.Y. and decided to stop and get a better look. There was a number of CD 154 Hemingrays on the pole I first spotted and the line that ran off into the distance into a wooded area. The rails most have been removed God knows when and even though it was over grown with brush, it appeared that it was used as a trail also. Parking my truck I decided I would take a hike and see if I could find anything a bit older then what was still on the pole along RT.66. At first I believed that that wasn't going to happen after searching the area around maybe ten poles or more. Those ten poles or more led to a bridge and I couldn't stop myself from crossing it and its rutted railroad ties. Once I get started on a hunt it seems I always have a problem turning around even if what I'm finding is not worth all the time and trouble. At least this time my handicap paid off. A short distance from the bridge in a spot where the the leaves had been disturbed, LOW and BEHOLD!! Now, the reason I put the question mark after the title of this pic is because I'm not exactly sure if the index number is correct. All the embossing is the same as the 080 except it has the large (+) cross or X and not the 't' shown in the price guide for this index code. I do recall someone had the same idenification problem here I ICON before and searched for the pics that were posted with no luck. Anyone who recall this feel free to help me out here. Thank you. The rest of the insulators were found in a different location where I've been quite a number of times. I always find more even though me and my friend Todd have been there a couple times. On the far right is a CD 162 Star in Green Aqua. One that I didn't have in my collection. Only found this one because I was hidding from an approaching high speed train (Amtrax). I wasn't even planning on going down the steep bank that ended at a deep waters edge. Never the less I decented down the slope next to one of the poles next to the stream or creek. Once I was where I was I figured I may as well have a look around. Being I was only half way down this slope and tired I almost passed this insulator up after seeing it. Told myself it was just another blue aqua Brookfield. Also told myself "You never know" and down I went. Must say I was both surprised and excited knowing at least a found some color. Didn't turn out to be a yellow green once cleaned but was still a keeper for me. |
