Iced Cherry Trees

This has been the coldest Spring I have seen. The cherries have to be protected by running wind machines and water. Once they are iced up the temp. stays at 32 if the temp drops to 28 you have damage (bud kill). The wind machine move the air and helps to raise the temp. This year with 4 machines going, starting any where from 10:00 pm to 6:00am they sucked up 4000 gal of propane. The frosty weather isn't over yet! Last year they only used 500 gal for the whole frost season.
