Webster, noun: Green-eyed House Tick : Naturalized indoor pest. Introduced to the New World by colonial settlers, it has become the number one vermin of the civilized world. Characteristics; small head with many long, sharp teeth; and a large round bulbous body. Parasitic by nature. Lazy, only moves when hungry or thirsty. Makes a demanding and repeating call; Me-NOW !! Me-NOW !! . Habitat; sunny spots and other heated areas. Often found indoors, but always near food source. Uncontrollable breeders, a female may have several large litters a year. Occasionally an offspring, considered a genetic throwback, may resemble one of the parents.
