The insulator in question is the unusual looking centre piece. The front side is marked OTE in a manner very similar to some of my German marked pieces with a tri-delta logo on the dome. I have never seen this makers mark before and am hoping some of you may be able to tell me who and where the manufacturer of this insulator is. Also of interest is knowing what type of insulator this is. I suspect a Dry Spot style insulator, due to the exterior threads at the top of the insulator. All thoughts and suggestions welcome The following info was received through ICON from Caleb Thimell The insulator you posted a photo of with the CV mark is made by Closter Veilsdorf. They are a porcelain insulator and related electrical parts manufacturer located in Veilsdorf, Germany. I've seen this insulator with a composite cap that acted as a dry spot for a wire that entered and exited thru a small hole in the middle of the threads. This is the first example I've seen that was made for export to OTE in Greece. Caleb Thimell |
