The line is suspended on this porcelain spool and not tied. Strong winds move the trees a lot here and it is better to keep the tube loose in the spool. The tubing is set so that it is not pulled too tight yet tight enough to maintain suspension. This tubing turns into bad news if it gets kinked and is then not too forgiving!
