Very nice opal out of the Southern states here. These were mostly used in Florida where it was sandy and acidic soil. The glass these were made from is very soft, easily damaged and stained glass which was usually the result from the soil and elements. This one on the otherhand is remarkably whole, no chips or cracks but does have that common characteristic of light etching, pecks and fleebites on the glass from acid and the soil. You will never find one of these perfect with no glass condition issues and if you did, it would bring top $$$.This guy has a few flakelets at the base on resting edge and some light pecks at base too. Displays great as opals go. Book is $100 for light opal. First mail to me... $78 shipped in USA/CANADA, other countries I will assist with shipping. Well, how bout sweetening the pot a little? $50 + actual shipping.
