Several years ago,[1999], Russ, Don and I went on an insulator search up near Spences Bridge. I learned so much from that trip, as Russ has eyes like an eagle. He was spotting colour variations, and CD variants, that I would never have noticed. I realized you have to really look hard at every jewel up there on the wires. Note we were still using the trusty ladder in those days. I've had to send it in to get the mileage turned back on it.
